Book Day.

I know I have a one day delay but I still wanna share this post with the 'world'. So the thing is that yesterday was the Book Day in most countries and I would like to let you know about my favorite book, so far.

First of all, I need to say that I’m not a great reader, I’m keener on magazines (but real reading not just browsing and looking the pictures.)

And it has a logical explanation: it’s hard for me to focus on one thing for a long time and reading articles on the newspapers, in Vogue, Psychologies or wherever is easier and more fun for me (and I won’t apologize for it.) So no more branching off, let’s talk about the book in question.

And the book is…is…«« DRUM ROLLS»»… The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time by Mark Haddon.

Maybe you’ve already read it but if not, from blogger to reader, you definitely should.

I don’t wanna be a spoiler but the book has nothing to do with dogs. So if you don’t like these animals, it doesn’t matter (and if you love them you should try reading it anyway), the story is much more poignant, I’d dare to say that it’s different to anything else.

The main point is that the narrator is a fifteen year-old boy with Arperger’s Syndrome who tells us his experiences and fears, his desires and complaints, so that way we can try to imagine a boy with his condition sees life and how hard it could be sometimes.

As I said I’m not really a great reader and I read that book in a weekend, and yes, that’s too quickly for me, but it’s a ‘masterpiece’ what we are talking about. Then, as I was highly motivated, I tried another novel of the same British writer: A Spot of Bother. The experience was a bit disappointing as I couldn’t even finish that book, maybe I didn’t read enough to get to the ‘good’ part, who knows…

I don't know the reason, but when I read the book I loved this last paragraph... 'I like this fact. It is something you can work out in your own mind just by looking at the sky above your head at night and thinking without havint to ask anyone.'
